Finishing Touches

I’m a bit of sucker for fall fashion. Although I welcome warm weather with open arms, I also have a penchant for slipping on a snuggly sweater or kickin’ pair of boots. For whatever reason, fall tends to be one of the primo seasons that women re-evaluate and update their wardrobes. Whether or not that’s in the cards for you this year, I’m going to suggest investing in a few new accessories to make last year’s favourite knit dresses and cardigans feel fresh again.

Stansberry

And if you’re game, I’ve got a wonderful U.S.- based designer to introduce you to. Stansberry is the brainchild of designer Natalie Morrow – the name is a lovely tribute to her mother and grandmother. The line consists of jewelry and accessories that honestly have a pretty universal appeal. The pieces are on-trend without being trend whorish, and timeless without feeling stale.

Stansberry Infinity Scarves

Take for example, these beautiful batik print scarves ($38 each). The infinity style is still very of the moment while the tribal global print easily punches up any outfit. This is such a perfect, special gift for your best friend or mom’s birthday because, as I noted, what woman wouldn’t want this in her wardrobe? Word to the wise: Stansberry will soon have a line of cuddly knit scarves to add to these ones, ideal for the increasingly chilly days.

Stansberry Foldover CLutches

As much as I heart big giant purses, my sister has impressed on me that swapping a few key essentials from your day-to-day bag to a smaller clutch can be a nice relief – not to mention a way to sleek up your wardrobe. Stansberry has a gorgeous line of uber-soft lambskin leather clutches ($98 each) in fall-friendly shades. As a bonus? They also double as tablet cases for your weekday warrior persona. I also adore the flocked velvet leopard clutch as an animal-friendly alternative ($68). A lovely choice for your sister’s Christmas or birthday present – especially for, say, the same sister that advised you to invest in clutches in the first place.

Stansberry Jewelry

Finally, the bulk of Stansberry’s pieces can be found in the jewelry section. Gold and silver plated / filled pieces keep the price down without sacrificing style – there’s a slightly rocker edge to many of the items, thanks to a hint of bling, spikes or chevron. That being said, many others simply scream sweetness thanks to their heart and flower motifs or delicate detailing. I like these as anniversary gifts for those of you that aren’t that into anniversaries. It still says you care and that you’ve scouted out something special and sweet, but it’s not a ridiculous splurge on a $1,000 diamond tennis bracelet. Which one do you think you’ll get more use out of, really?

Stansberry Prizing

The good news is, Stansberry has wholly reasonable shipping rates to Canada – just $7 – making them a retailer you should be adding to your holiday shopping lists in the very near future (or you know, your holiday wish list). The better news is, I’ve got a glam prize pack for one lucky gal, consisting of the leopard clutch and a spiked bracelet to help you update your fall look in a snap. Here’s how to enter:

1) Leave a comment by October 15th with a link back to your favourite item on the Stansberry website AND your favourite featured monogram gift idea from this post.

2) Entries are limited to one per person / per email address / per household (or more if you score bonus entries). A random draw will be conducted on or around October 16th to select the winner, who will have 48 hours to respond before another winner is chosen in their place.

3) Entries are limited to Canadians that have reached the age of majority in their province. Quebec is not eligible for this promotion.

4) Bonus Entry: Check out Natalie Morrow and Stansberry on Twitter, Facebook or Pinterest. Like ’em, interact with ’em (via Tweet tagging, Facebook commenting, and Pinterest repinning) and leave links back to your activities below to score up to 3 bonus entries.
