Trend Watch: Denim Daze

The blue jean has come a long way baby. I mean, a few years ago we really started seeing the proliferation of coloured denim, alongside patterned denim. After perusing the mall these past few weeks, I’ve noticed even more embellishments and innovations than ever – and I’ve rounded up a few pairs you may want to add to your wish list stat. If you’re buying for someone, try and take a peek in their jean draw to nab their size. If you’re asking for jeans, try ’em on before you buy, if you can, so you can make sure you get the right size, right out of the box.

Denim DazeFrom L to R

Jewelled Boyfriend Jean – $79.90 @ ZARA – Distressed, loose boyfriend cut, and sparkling pops of gems? Yup, this pair checks all the seasonal trend boxes.

Ultra Slim Python Jean – $29 @ Joe Fresh – As per usual, Joe Fresh has delivered tons of cool styles of denims this fall, including subtle camo prints and of-the-moment coated jeans. Personally, I love the just-this-side of dangerous texture of these python-printed pants (available in black and navy).

1969 Patchwork Always Skinny Jeans – $59 @ GAP – Super distressed and patchy looks are all over the place right now, bringing a mixture of industrial chic with country cuteness.

Skinny Ankle Grazer Jeans in Mulled Tartan Print – $74 @ ASOS – Bring a little punk rock to your bottom half with these born to be wild plaid jeans. They can also be styled in a prepster way, with a cute cardigan or button-down shirt under a v-neck sweater.

MSGM Distressed Jeans with Floral Embroidery – $1,108 @ Farfetch – You know I love to throw a ‘fantasy’ pick in there. These comfortable, tomboy-esque denims get a girly lift with the addition of dramatic floral sequinned patches.

Okay stylish readers interested in earning an extra Opelle giveaway entry! Tell me in the comments below – which of these jeans would make your wish list? It’s okay to say none, this can be a tricky trend to pull off.
