10 for $10: Super Sudsy Edition

For this month’s 10 for $10 feature, I’m highlighting 10 groovy, unique, wonderful bars of soap you can nab for $10 or less (not including taxes and shipping). Because what else is more refreshing than having a nice scrub up on a hot summer’s day? Soaps make a great stocking stuffer, or can be bundled together to make a sweet thank you present or houseguest gift. I’m also using this as an opportunity to introduce you to a handful of awesome brands – check out their other products and craft your own gift basket!

Nova Scotia Fisherman Apple Cider SoapNova Scotia Fisherman Apple Cider Soap – $7.95
No word of a lie, I bought this soap at Superstore the other week and the cashier stopped everything to stare at it, smell it, and tell me how awesome it looked! And indeed it is – this all-natural soap has a powerful, spicy scent and nourishing Nova Scotia sea kelp blended right in. It’s actually one of four scents from the brand.

Rocky Mountain Fruit Smoothie SoapRocky Mountain Soap Co. Fruit Smoothie Soap – $5.25
Really I could have picked any of Rocky Mountain’s gorgeously scented all natural soaps – which they’re regularly adding to with seasonal faves and limited editions – but the chunky colours and fruity tang of this soap just seemed appropriate for summertime.

SharkFinSoapGroup-fullLush Shark Fin Soap – $5.95
If you’ve walked by a Lush store you’ve already inhaled its pungent scent. But right now you can also do some good by shopping there and buying their Shark Fin Soap, created for Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, proceeds from the sale of this seaweed, sea salt and lime soap will go to an organization that’s helping to protect sharks from poachers looking to make shark fin soup. Rest assured – no sharks were hurt in the making of this soap!

MielsdAnicet Soapmiels d’Anicet Soap – $6 each
Infused with honey, beeswax, and natural oils, these luxurious soaps smell heavenly and coat your skin in richness. They also come in super cute, gift-ready packaging that seriously ups their luxe factor. Heads up though – shipping’s on the pricier side.

Aide Sweet Tobacco SoapAide Sweet Tobacco Soap – $7.10
Even guys love soap – and there’s plenty of scents out there that cater to their more masculine sensibilities. Aide carries a few varieties, including this rugged Sweet Tobacco bar, as well as Black Pepper + Sugar Cane, Happy Camper, and 5 Paddles Beer Soap.

Pink Sugar Kogi Naturals SoapKogi Naturals Pink Sugar Soap – $5
If you want a super girly soap, look no further. The pretty pink marbled colour is just the beginning – one whiff of its sugary sweet cotton candy-inspired aroma and you’ll be in seventh heaven.

O Canada Soap WorksO Canada Soapworks Canada Line Bars – $5.75 each
Points for creativity – this fun Canadian brand has created a lineup of soaps that represent the vibe (or landscape) of each of Canada’s provinces and territories. From a minty fresh bar for Nunavut to a invigorating ocean-scented bar for Nova Scotia, this is a cool way to celebrate our country’s beauty.

Naughty SoapSoapatorium ‘Naughty’ Soap – $5.50 @ The Detox Market
Black soap? It may sound counter-intuitive, but this licorice-scented soap’s magic ingredient is charcoal, which absorbs excess oil produced by our skin and gently exfoliates. It’s a quirky yet super clean option.

Donut SoapDemo Soap Donut Soaps – From $4.95
These sweet-smelling soaps may LOOK good enough to eat, but in actuality they’re moreso suited for scrubbing up. Available in 10 different ‘flavours’ from Mango Coconut to Apple Caramel Cinnamon, these sweet treats are perfect for the pal that’s looking to avoid actual sugary snacks.

Exfoliating Pale Ale Beer and Maple SoapExfoliating Pale Ale Beer & Maple Soap – $6 @ Serenity Soaps
Does it get more Canadian than this? I think not. Apart from the heavenly spicy sweet scent of this awesome bar, it also features finely ground malted barley and hops, to exfoliate dead skin and leave you feeling extra refreshed.

BONUS entry into this month’s Perkse Coffee & Tea giveaway – tell me in the comments below, which of these awesome soaps would you most like to try?
