Rifle Penguin Books

What It Is: Whilst perusing the shelves at Indigo last weekend, I was struck by these lovely book reimaginings, tucked away in the YA section. Anna Bond from Rifle Paper Co. has teamed up with Penguin to create some limited edition covers for five fantastic reads: Heidi, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, A Little Princess and Alice in Wonderland (the latter is a slightly bigger, almost picture book-esque format). Not only is the outside totally gorgeous and worthy of display, the inside of the books features more of Bond’s signature, beloved artwork. If one were to judge a book by its cover, you’d easily anticipate these are some very lovely reads.

Who It’s For: Your niece, to educate her on the classics wrapped in the very prettiest book covers. Your wife, to add to her collection of gorgeous book covers. Your best friend, who loves Rifle Paper Co. and views books as art.

What It Costs: The books are $16 USD on the Rifle Paper Co site. In Canada, I’d imagine they’re a few dollars more than that.

Where It’s At: Admittedly I can’t seem to find the books on the Indigo site, but they are available there. Rifle Paper Co. does ship to Canada, and I managed to find Alice in Wonderland on Penguin Random House’s Canadian site for $35.

    RYU bonus entry: of these re-imagined books, Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland & Anne Of Green Gables are my fave. I would buy Heidi for my cousin’s daughter ‘cos that’s her name.

    I found them on Indigo & are comparably in price, better if you consider it’s in CAD$, can pick up in store for free & you also get reward points so that’s a bonus!

    I love the Anne books, of course, but also really enjoy re-reading A Little Princess every once in a while. I’d keep some for myself, and gift some to my wee nieces.
