What It Is: Some of my friends and I infamously joke that we have kept (or almost kept) gifts we bought for each other for ourselves. One case in which I’m totally guilty of doing that? These cuddly ribbed ‘reading socks’ from Indigo that double as slippers on chilly fall days. Designed to go mid-calf, these warm, ultra thick socks are lined with a soft wooly sherpa fabric that ups the cuddle factor. I was psyched to see that Indigo’s not just reserving them for the holiday season this year – you can pick up some in great fall hues right now! Honestly, this is one of my favourite gift ideas ever (I’ve given pairs to other people since buy-keeping my first pair, as has my family) – it’s so perfect for our frosty Canadian winters!
Who It’s For: Your best friend with a winter birthday. Your mother-in-law who always complains of chilly feet. Your niece to rock at her next slumber party. Remember – they’re called reading socks, so maybe pair ’em with a hotly anticipated fall read!

I’ll have two pairs of the Beaded Rib Stitch Reading Socks in Purple; one for me, one for my daughter. We both love to read and we both always have cold feet.
I wear slipper socks all the time when at home so would love these in purple to match my housecoat.
