Find of the Month: 100% Pure

I am so, so excited to have the opportunity to share this brand with you guys. I first discovered 100% Pure about six months ago when I was beginning a more in-depth exploration of the natural beauty world and I have to say I’ve yet to find a brand that quite exceeds their awesomeness. Why, you ask? Because I’ve yet to find another brand that takes the ‘natural’ part of beauty quite so literally. Like most natural care brands, their products are made with 100% natural ingredients. However what’s particularly cool is that when you’re applying that cherry-hued lipstick or peachy blush from their makeup line, you’re actually literally wearing that shade – 100% Pure pigments their makeup with real fruit. I’ve gotten to take a few products for a test run over the last while and I can tell you I’m a serious convert. In fact, I’ve selected five of my favourites that I recommend you snap up for gifting (or yourself)!

Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream – $25
I am a devout eye cream user. For one thing, I have genetic dark circles under my eyes and I find keeping them moisturized helps, especially when applying concealer over top. This eye cream is quite possibly my favourite one that I’ve ever tried – and I’ve used a lot. With real green tea and coffee, it depuffs the eyes after a bleary night, decreases the appearance of dark circles in the long-term, and packs plenty of anti-aging benefits to boot. And did I mention the smell? It smells like sweet and salty kettle corn and is such a heavenly way to wake up in the morning or turn in at night. A must-have for your sisters-in-arms that also suffer from undereye sabotage. Love. Love. LOVE!

Pot Rouge – $20
I have long favoured cream blushes over powders – they really give you a natural, rosy glow, and really, that’s sort of the point of wearing blush ain’t it? As part of their fruit (and veggie) dyed makeup line, 100% Pure’s Pot Rouge blushes come in a range of both neutral and bright shades and are great at both blending and layering. Whether you want a light kiss of colour or you’re looking to put the focus on those cheekbones, once you try one of these pots you’ll be hard-pressed to not want another one. The petite size makes them perfect for traveling or stashing in your purse as well.

Fruit Pigmented Mascara – $23
Your eyes are one of the most porous parts of your body, meaning what you put on or around them is likely to be more easily absorbed into your system. With mascara wands wiggling right down to the lash line, it’s definitely not a bad idea to invest in a natural solution. Again, 100% Pure comes to the rescue (in fact, they literally have every product you need to swap out your beauty arsenal) with a line of four mascaras from traditional black to eye-popping purple. The brush manages to lengthen, separate and shine up the lashes nicely, thanks to the smooth, easy-to-remove formula as well.

Lip Gloss – $16
Like your eyes, what ends up on your lips will likely end up in your mouth, and thus your body. Pigmented extracts of pomegranate, cherry, cranberry, blackberry and even wine are blended to make a whole host of shades from dramatic darks to sweet shimmers. Carrot Facial Scrub – $24
In developing this post, I did choose to focus on 100% Pure’s cosmetics and facial care lines in particular, but that’s not to say the rest of their collection isn’t worth a perusal (they have over 15 body scrubs you guys…). Since the secret to a flawless face starts with how you treat that epidermis, I strongly recommend a face mask at least once a week, and a face scrub every other shower (depending on your skin type, granted). Here’s a surprising fact: scrubbing your face in the morning makes more sense than at night. If you do it at night, your body (in sleep & repair mode) will actually graft a new layer of skin while you’re getting some shuteye, rendering the previous evening’s exfoliation session useless.
