Find of the Month: Castellammare Jewellery

*Rolls neck* *Stretches arms* *Does a shimmy* Okay guys. As of today, the Canadian Gift Guide is in holiday gift idea mode! Well, sorta. I mean, as per usual, all of the gifts featured on the CGG (for the most part) are great for gifting any time of year. But with the stores already brimming with holiday trim and Halloween candy on clearance, I can’t help but be tempted to flip on maybe just one or two holiday songs as I craft my posts for the next two months.

Anyway, I am MORE than excited to introduce you to Castellammare Jewellery, an Ottawa-based jewellery line created by the absolutely lovely Marianna. The line – named for Marianna’s father’s Italian hometown – is absolutely elegant and timeless; featuring pieces any woman in your family would not only love to wear, but treasure. Best of all, they’re plenty affordable so you can keep on adding items that fit your personal tastes or work for a particular gift-giving occasion. I’ve handpicked a few of MY favourites and thrown in some suggestions for how they might be absolutely perfect for. Enjoy!

Castellammare Bow BraceletBow Bracelet – $25
Serious covet alert. One of the things that most seriously eats me up sometimes is when I spot a really beautiful bracelet that would look amazing stacked, only to discover it’s a bajillion dollars and to do proper stack would cost me several hundred bucks. Not so with Castellammare Jewellery. Virtually every piece is under $30, making it a snap to create a gorgeous array of sparkle on your neck, wrist or otherwise. These girly-yet-sleek bow bracelets are easily one of my favourite pieces from Castellammare. They look gorgeous mixed with thinner bangles but also provide a ladylike accent on their own. Like most pieces from Castellammare, it comes in three finishes, including silver, gold, and rose gold. As a fun aside, Marianna filled me in that as a lifelong fan of rose gold, she was thrilled when it started making waves in the fashion world. Many of her pieces are rendered in this slightly more exotic metal based on feedback that women were struggling to find jewelry that worked with their of-the-moment rose gold watches (of which I too, am an owner). Anyone that’s read this blog knows my affinity for rose gold so I was more than a little excited to see it featured so prominently in the Castellammare line.

Castellmmare Jewellery Black Hoop Night Out EarringsBlack Hoop Night Out Earrings – $25
I wanted to include these spectacular danglers because they are something a departure from the bulk of the Castellammare collection. Made from oxidized brass, these celeb-inspired earrings pack plenty of drama, but are wisely rendered in a more subtle finish to allow those of you that aren’t quite comfy with making a bold jewellery statement. A very cool gift for your sister when paired with an awesome sparkly top to celebrate New Year’s Eve in!

Castellammare Gold Fringe BraceletGold Fringe Bracelet – $16
If you love the subtle jingle jangle of a pretty piece of jewellery, you’ll adore this brushed gold bracelet. Made from 14K gold plated brass, I adore this one as a gift for your mom or mother-in-law. The price point is laughably low compared to the absolutely gorgeous finish. I particularly enjoy the modernity of the shade of gold Castellammare uses; shiny gold scares many a woman but a soft shimmer like this works well with any skintone and flatters any woman’s wardrobe.

Castellammare Hammered Infinity NecklaceHammered Infinity Necklace – $21.50
I got my bridesmaids infinity rings as part of their gifts – a thanks to my forever friends for celebrating a forever day. However, had I known these delicate chain necklaces existed with the classic-yet-trendy infinity motif, I certainly would have investigated them as well! Available in rose gold, silver and gold, I think these would make a sweet gift between a mom and her daughters or a trio of friends. Bonus points for allowing you to select the length to suit each gal’s personal tastes and proportions.

Black and Brushed Gold Bangle StackBlack & Gold Brushed Bangle Stack – $60
As I mentioned above, one of my most beloved things about the Castellammare collection is the fact you can actually afford to create a knockout combination of sparkle. If however, you feel lost in the woods when it comes to picking out what works with what, they’ve got your covered – with tons of prepackaged sets of complementary bracelets – like this bold brushed gold and onyx set. Six stacking bangles in various finishes and shapes makes for one easy gifting option: perfect for your wife or girlfriend that isn’t all that into big splurges, but still appreciates sweet tokens of your love. Marianna noted to me that she really aims to keep her jewelry light – so you won’t feel weighed down by this sparkly stack.

Delicate Silver Leaf EarringsDelicate Silver Leaf Hoop Earrings – $18
These simple earrings are inspired by none other than one of the world’s biggest fashion icons: the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. Another very cool thing about Castellammare’s line is that all of the pieces feel and look very light but they aren’t especially fragile. They’re a boon for any woman that doesn’t like heavy or clunky jewellery that gets in the way of her everyday life – try gifting these to a busy mom friend that hasn’t treated herself recently. Also available in gold.

Castellammare Jewellery Art Deco PendantMint Green Art Deco Pendant – $26
This was a really difficult and easy post for me to write. Easy because there was so much I loved, hard because there was almost too much to feature – like this stunning 1920s-style pendant necklace. I’ve always loved vintage-themed accessories, but The Great Gatsby has really influenced the fashion world so we’re seeing more and more deco pieces. If it’s not part of your regular wardrobe style, your best bet is to spend a little to incorporate one or two iconic items as opposed to splurging on something that may not work in your day-to-day life a year from now. Enter Castellamare’s super-affordable line-up! A fetching find for your most stylish friend.

So if you clicked on any of the links above, you’ll have noticed that Castellammare Jewellery has two online presences: an Etsy shop and an independent store. I actually recommend perusing both; while many of the most popular pieces can be found in both places, you’ll also find plenty of treasures that are unique to each storefront, however the independent Shopify presence actually has the latest and greatest items. Extra nifty is the fact the brand is Canadian – meaning you, dear readers, save dearly on shipping.

Stacked necklaces
